For those of you who haven't read my last baby update, this little baby boy is definitely a good luck charm for me...at least he has been this week! Let's start on Monday. I won a $5 gift card to Sonic at work. Tuesday I won a t-shirt and a $10 gift certificate to Iceberg at work. Tuesday I went to a cooking class with my friend Michelle and there were about 20 people there. They had a drawing at the end and my name was the first one drawn so I got a nice big box of chocolates. On Thursday I got to see my husband DURING the day! I usually don't get to see him until about 5:30ish at night, but I got to go with him to a recognition luncheon on campus and I got to work from home the rest of the day. Then, today at work I won a king size snickers and a new mouse pad! I never win anything!!! This was just an awesome week for me!
In addition to my unending luck, my week was just so good! I went exercising Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (3 days so far this week is good for me)! I got to hang out with my friend Michelle twice. I was super productive at work and even set a record (which is definitely saying something, considering I've only been working there for about three months). Blair was on campus studying ALL day on Monday and Tuesday (that's not the good part!) so on Wednesday when he came home from school, we spent all evening together, which was heavenly! I had time to paint my toe nails yesterday evening while watching Jeopardy. Tonight is Friday, which means DATE NIGHT!!! And tomorrow is Saturday and although Blair has to study in the morning and early afternoon, he promised me the afternoon and evening and I have already started his “Honey Do” list.
On another note, I have to say just how much I love my husband! Blair is always so sweet and can always make me laugh! Because he had a crazy week with school and my schedule for dinners got messed up due to other things, ours dinners this week were so basic. Yesterday evening I told him I was sorry they weren't better and he just looked at me so sweet and told me very seriously that he is a guy and any food is good to him. He reminded me that he doesn't need or expect a big elaborate dinner every night and he is very easy to please. I love that he is so understanding! He also tries to be helpful and since he was actually home for more than 30 minutes Wednesday, he did the dishes. I must say, he is very attractive when he does the dishes for me and lets me rest on the love sac, then comes and rubs my back for a few minutes once the dishes are done. I am just so lucky! I used to feel guilty when Blair would study for hours after dinner either for his classes or for the MCAT. I have started doing some extra work from home in the evenings and am constantly finding new projects to work on around the apartment. Blair continues to remind me though, that I am at work all day then I come home and make dinner...I don't need to ever feel guilty about relaxing in the evenings. Although I still like to be productive and work a little extra, exercise, or work on a project, I have really enjoyed relaxing too. I can read normal books now (not yucky text books), take a bath, and paint my nails. Blair likes when I relax and pamper myself a little bit because he knows those things will always help me stay in a good mood, and he has learned throughout our about 20 months of marriage that for him, a happy wife is a happy life!
This has just been one of those week where my list of things to be grateful for is never ending! Feeling my precious baby move and kick all day is an amazing feeling and I love it more and more each day. I love my job! I love the people I work with, the environment I work in, and the work I'm doing and it is always so nice to see the work I'm doing make a difference. I love coming home each day and seeing my wonderful husband who loves me no matter what! And of course, I love that I had good luck this week and get several fun goodies!
