Baby Week 28

Dear Baby,

Your parents already love you so much! They love to stay up late together and talk about you! They can't believe that you'll become part of their little family in just under three short months. Over the weekend they had the opportunity to listen to the leaders of the church and they thought about you a lot. Several of the talks were about families and they felt like those talks applied to them more now than ever before. They hope they can be great parents to you and can teach you the principles of the Gospel that they love. You are constantly on their minds. Your mama is convinced that she will be thinking about you constantly for years and years because she knows your Grammy Olsen is constantly thinking and worrying about her kids and grandkids.

Speaking of Grammy Olsen, she and Auntie Emily are coming to see you in just two weeks! Mommy is so excited to see them and Auntie Emily says she is mostly excited to see Mama's big belly. They and Grammy and Papa Rhodehouse and Uncle Brycy and Auntie Britta are all coming to see Daddy and Mommy graduate from BYU! Mommy has been done with school since December but since Daddy only had one extra semester than her they decided to walk together this month. Grammy and Emily have a list of a few places they want to go shopping and eat at (places that they don't have in Oregon) and your parents (especially Mama) are excited to help them cross things off their list!

You must be a good luck charm for your mama...she has been on fire this week! She usually has the worst luck in the world and never wins anything! But at work on Monday she won a $5 gift card to Sonic! Then on Tuesday at work she won a t-shirt and a $10 gift certificate to Iceberg! Tuesday night she and your Auntie Michelle went to a cooking class at Macey's. There were about 20 people there and Mommy won a box of yummy chocolate! She is just shocked at all her goodies! After you're born she is going to continue to take you everywhere with her as her good luck charm...you don't have much of a choice right now.

Last week you were being goofy and teasing Daddy again. At your last doctor's appointment the doctor told your parents that your heartbeat is so strong now that if Daddy put his ear on Mama's belly he might be able to hear it! Cool! Daddy tried listening a few times last week and one of the times he put his ear down and after about 2 seconds you kicked him right in the head! Mommy couldn't stop laughing!!!! You are already so much like your father...a big goof ball!!!

Your parents are starting to look at furniture for your room. They haven't gotten anything yet, but they are looking and hoping to start getting things soon. Your mama did make a decoration for your room while she was watching conference over the weekend. She had so much fun doing it and is going to try a few more projects. And don't worry, even though the projects she is doing can be referred to as “crafts” they are all sports themed and very boyish! Your daddy wouldn't let a girly craft near your room...he is watching out for you!

You have another ultrasound next week and your parents are excited to see you again! Mommy is especially excited to make sure you really are a boy (she knows three people who in the last year had a baby that was the opposite gender of what they were told). Hopefully the appointment goes well and you are healthy and as big as you feel to your mama!
