The baby has a lot of catching up to do to be like his Daddy!
Blair loved his little gifts and is getting so anxious to become a daddy. One of the things I am most excited about for these next few months is to observe Blair taking on his new role as a Dad. I know he will do a great job! I love that he has worked so hard in his life to prepare himself for this new phase (well, prepare as much as you can for something like this) and I love that he has made such good choices in his life that our children will be able to look to him as a good example! What a great feeling that gives me! I am so glad that I have a husband who loves me no matter what and would do anything for me. I sometimes still wonder to myself how I got so lucky.
Happy Father's Day to Blair's Daddy too! It is hard for me to explain how I feel about Brent. I've tried to explain it to Blair before, but usually the only thing I can come up with is, “There is just something about him that I love!” I really do love Brent so much! He is such a simple man and he doesn't always have much to say (the first time I met him I think he said 2 or 3 words to me), but I've always been able to feel his love for me and I can always see that he cares about me so much. I love that some of Blair's best characteristics, he's learned from his dad. They are both so patient and easy-going, dependable and supportive. They are both hard workers and great examples. One of my favorite quotes, one that I recited to my parents often, is, “Parents can tell but never teach, unless they practice what they preach.” This is something that Blair and his Dad both do. They are examples of the things they teach and of things they expect others to do. I love and respect Brent so much and I'm so glad Blair has learned so much from him. I'm grateful that my baby and my other children will have these two men as great role models to look up to throughout their life!
P.S. The other day I finally took all the pictures off of my camera...there were pictures from Christmas 2008...yeah I never clean off my card. Anyway, once I finished taking them off I decided to take a picture because I couldn't stand the thought of there being NO pictures on my memory card. Blair was watching some basketball game or something, so he was my closest target. He probably won't be too happy to see this pictures up here, but it was just too cute for me to resist.
