Dear Baby,
Your Mama was a little behind this past week, as is evident by this blog post being 4 days later than normal...last week was a long week for her. She got home form work exhausted every day! She hopes this week will be better for her and she is trying to rest more in the evenings and get to bed earlier.
Last week was Mother's Day and Daddy made Mommy feel so special. Daddy is sometimes a little forgetful, so Mama was ecstatic to wake up Sunday morning to a bouquet of beautiful red roses, two packages of her favorite cookies (Mommy's two favorite things in the world are flowers and cookies!) and a card from Daddy that was so sincere, it brought tears to her eyes. Your Mama loved feeling you wiggle and squirm around all day and felt pure excitement about becoming a Mom to you in just a few weeks.
Daddy is coaching a youth baseball team right now of 9 and 10 year old boys and they had their first game on Thursday and they won! Although he has already loved coaching so much, he has said several times that he will enjoy it even more when it's you he gets to coach. He coached a 4-5 year old co-ed team last year and even though he has enjoyed this year better, he thinks his coaching experience is preparing him to be a father because his patience is tested constantly. You'd think that after being married to Mommy for almost two years, he would have been the most patient person by now, because heaven knows, she test it often.
Daddy is more and more excited for you to come each day! He has been so busy lately studying for his MCAT, but you and mommy try to remember that he is working so hard, not just for himself, but for you guys too. The test is this week and because he has been so busy studying he promised Mommy that he will go with her Saturday to pick out your crib and other necessities they don't have yet. Mommy is thrilled to have her best friend back!
You have been making Mommy pretty uncomfortable lately. She finds herself using the restroom almost as much as she is sitting at her desk at work! When she is lying down she can't move easily or even roll over without grunting. Daddy is constantly helping her up! Shoes are a whole separate problem! If she wears real shoes she really struggles to put them on, but she resorted mostly to flip-flops lately since her feet get so swollen by the middle of the day! Sunday was a beautiful day so she and Daddy decided to walk to church since it is only about 3-4 blocks away. By the time they sat down Mommy's feet were so swollen that she had to take off her heals and there were pretty deep marks. It was hard to get her shoes back on at the end of the meeting and by the end of church she decided to walk home barefoot. Thankfully Daddy was a sweetheart and he rubbed her feet Sunday evening and even did the dishes. She tells Daddy almost daily that she feels “so pregnant” and Daddy can't help but laugh as he reminds her that she IS pregnant!!!
Mommy is so happy that you will have such a great example as a Daddy. She knows that he will be the best father to you and your siblings and is so grateful that he is so sweet and considerate! She is constantly telling him that she is glad her sons will have a great example to look up to and that her daughters will know what to look for in a future husband based on how wonderful he is. You really are so lucky!
You still have no name for now. Your grandparents and aunties are constantly giving your parents suggestions and although there are several that they like, there is no decision yet. Daddy doesn't want to make a final decision yet anyway. He wants to see you and hold you before they pick one, but hopefully they'll have their list narrowed down by the time you come, otherwise you may be nameless for several days...let's hope that doesn't happen.
Mommy and Daddy got a little nervous last night as Mommy had several strong contractions and felt terrible. It was probably just from moving around and overworking herself, because when Mama layed down and read they went away, thankfully! Your parents would be thrilled if you came a week or so early, but not this early! If you do really want to come early, that's fine...they deal with it and make it work, but just don't come before this Friday! It would be bad news for Daddy and his MCAT score if you decided to grace them with you presence before then! However, if you came a week or two early, Mommy and Daddy wouldn't complain at all! That would give them enough time to get Daddy's test done and finish getting everything ready for your arrival and your Mommy's sisters will all be able to see you before they go home after the 4th of July weekend! But just come when you're ready, your parents just want you healthy more than anything else! They are so excited to meet you!
