Where were YOU two years ago?

Exactly two years ago from today (9/27/08) I met Blair for the first time! I never thought I'd be meeting my future husband that night. I remember that weekend so vividly! Here is what happened: Friday (9/26) I went straight home after class to get a few things packed and I went to spend the night with my friend Janel at another friend's cabin about an hour away. We got back around 3pm Saturday and after getting a little bit of homework done, I headed to Kelsey's apartment with Syd and Michelle to watch the General Relief Society broadcast.

We were planning to leave right after the broadcast because we each had dates to get ready for. Well, towards the end of the broadcast my date texted me, telling me he wasn't available anymore...he was definitely NOT a keeper, I mean really, who cancels 2 hours before with no reason and who does it through a text! Well, I wasn't in the best mood and I didn't want to go home to do nothing so I stayed at Kelsey's apartment to hang out because she was having some friends over that night. So I stayed and made some yummy truffles with my sissy. Well, not too much later I got a text from one of my freshman roommates, Katalin. Who knew that this text would change my life?

Katalin had been wanting to set me up on a blind date for a while; she was convinced that I would hit it off with her boyfriend's cousin. Well, I had avoided that blind date because I'd never been on one before and had heard my friends talk about their blind dates like they were horror stories. Well, I come to find out later that the boy also had avoided the blind date because he had been on way too many horrible ones! Well, I realized that i didn't have anything else to do that night and I was still mad about this other boy canceling on me at the last minute so I figured if I went, one of two things would happen: 1.) I would have a ton of fun and forget that other boy, or 2.) It wouldn't go so well and my night would be just like it was beforehand.

Well, I risked it! I went on that blind date...my first and only! Kelsey's friend gave me a ride back to my apartment so I could have time to get ready (is it weird that I still remember what outfit I wore that night?). The doorbell rings and I open the door to see a hottie waiting to take me out! (and is it even weirder that I remember exactly what Blair was wearing too?) We hit it off right away! We went with my friend and her boyfriend to the movie, Get Smart, then got some ice cream. It was super fun and it obviously made an impact! Blair walked me home from Katalin's apartment that night, asked for my number, and the rest is history!

We have had a great two years and look forward to many many more! I will never forget this last first date!
