Brock sure keeps me busy! He is wild and crazy and never seems to run out of energy!
Some of his favorite things right:
-blanky
-4-wheeler
-playing with shoes
-reading books (His favorite is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?)
-going on walks
-taking baths
-climbing stairs
-playing outside
-swimming
-seeing Daddy walk in the door from school (he gets the BIGGEST smile on his face when he sees Blair)
-being wild with Daddy
-Easy Mac
-tapioca pudding
-jello
-balls (footballs, baseballs, basketballs, nerf balls, ANY type of balls)
Some of his least favorite things:
-sitting still to eat meals
-getting his diaper changed
-being alone in a room for too long
-getting dressed after baths
-applesauce (he used to love it but right now he can't stand it)
-juice (never been a huge fan of anything but water and milk)
-being in his car seat for too long
Brock is pretty easy for the most part. And the few things that make him a little bit of a challenge, are starting to get better. I've been going to the gym several days a week lately and I leave him at the child watch there. He used to cry when I would leave, but now he doesn't even seem to notice (I'll admit, that does make me a little sad). He plays so well with the other kids, but when I go to pick him up, he is always excited to see me.
Church is always a bit challenging with Brock. He is a little toddler and I can't expect him to sit still for 3 hours straight. He is slowly getting better though at behaving himself, even if he isn't sitting still. For the past few weeks, we haven't even had to take him into the hall during any meetings, which I never thought would happen!
When we transitioned Brock from formula to cow's milk in July, he became a really picky eater and hasn't gotten over it yet. Things he used to love, he hates! He used to eat anything we would give to him, but now he won't even open his mouth to try things! There are a few things that he will almost always eat, but I'm afraid if i only give him those things he'll get sick of them and stop eating them too! Because he hasn't been eating well, he is continuing to drop in percentile in both weight and height. (He has a Dr. appt. on Thursday, so we will see where he is now.) He has been drinking his milk better lately thought, which is good. Every morning when he wakes up, the first thing we do is get his milk then he sits on my lap and we watch the Today Show together. This is usually the only cuddle time I get from him all day, so I have learned to cherish it!
Brock transitioned a few weeks ago from 2 naps per day to 1 per day. I was a sad Mama when I realized he was ready to transition because his morning nap was when I would get cleaning and other projects done and his afternoon nap was when I would take a nap of my own! Now he just takes 1 2-hour nap, usually from 12:30-2:30. I've had to transition too, so now I get things done for an hour, then nap for an hour.
Words Brock says:
Dada
Mama
Papa
Nana (for banana)
Cracker
All gone
Uh-oh
Wow
Football
Ball
(I'm sure there are a few others, but that's all I can think of for now)
Other updates:
Brock has had 7 teeth for quite a while now (4 on bottom and 3 on top). Last week his 4th tooth on top finally broke through so now he won't have a lopsided smile!
On the weekends, Blair studies upstairs and Brock always knows when he is there. He likes to climb the stairs and knock on the door. When Mondays roll around, he thinks Blair is still up there so he always tried to find him and is really sad when he realizes he is nowhere in the house.
He loves to just be silly and laugh a lot!
He loves to wave and clap!
Brock is a crazy boy, but he is really sweet too! A few times a day, he will just randomly run up to me and give me a hug and kiss. I love those moments! They make me forget about the times when he is a stinker!
In pictures, it doesn't look like he has very much hair, but it is actually pretty long, you just can't see it very well because it is so blond! I love his bright blond hair! He has darker eyebrows and eye lashes though, so I'm afraid his hair will turn darker sooner or later...but I hope it doesn't!
His eyes used to be really blue, but now they don't really have a specific color :( They are like my eyes now, kind of green, but hazel and gray too. And they change from day to day - random!
Favorite time of the day is bath time!
When I am getting ready in the mornings, Brock will drag his blanket and find my scarf and sit by my tub and just stare at me! He is so goofy!
