Baby Week 22

Dear Baby,

Your Mommy and Daddy had the best Valentine's Day ever because they finally found out that you are a boy! They were very surprised but are so excited! You did a great job for the doctor as he was looking around and measuring you until the very end. At the end the doctor was trying to see if you were a boy or girl and you wouldn't uncross your legs. Your were just lounging there and not cooperating. You must have already inherited your father's stubbornness! After continuously poking Momma's tummy for several minutes, the doctor finally got you to move a little bit and there you were...a boy! I guess you were just being modest...Grammy Olsen said you didn't want to show off the "family jewels."

According to the measurements the doctor took, you were a little smaller than you should have been. For now the doctor changed your due date from June 25th to June 30th. Momma has another ultrasound in 7 weeks to check your growth again.

Your parents are excited as can be as they can now start planning more for your arrival. Daddy can't believe that he will have a son in just a few short months. On the way home from the doctor's Daddy said to Momma, "Honey, aren't you excited to have two of me around to bug you soon?!" Grammy Olsen agreed that it'd be better to have two boys around to bug mommy than two girls around to bug daddy.

Your Papa Rhodehouse was thrilled to hear that his first grandbaby will be a boy and he thinks you'll be a great baseball player, just like your daddy. When Momma was talking to Daddy about a theme for your room, Daddy didn't give much consideration to any of the ideas except sports, so that's what it will be!

Mommy is excited to have a boy first too, but she just hopes she doesn't have two boys in a row. She's nervous that if you have a brother too close in age to you, you boys will be too mischievous and gang up on her, just like your Daddy and Uncle Brycy did to Grammy Rhodehouse.

Your parents got a cute brownie bouquet from your Auntie Syd and Uncle Jordy. They were excited to find out you were a boy and are already talking about babysitting you so your parents can go out on dates. Your Momma is afraid Uncle Jordy will teach you to shoot dart guns at a young age or he'll watch Tron with you and turn you into an ultra nerd. You love to go exercising with Momma and Auntie Syd several days a week. They love to talk about you and you move around so much it's like you're walking along with them.

Daddy likes to rub Momma's belly and it's certainly starting to show! She's finally past the stage where people can't tell if she's pregnant or if she's just gaining weight. Both your parents love to feel you move and wiggle around. Daddy hopes that all your moving around means you'll be very athletic. Hopefully you get the height and build of your Daddy's side. If you're built like your Momma's family you'll be quite a shorty.

But your parents will love you no matter what you look like! Everyone just wants you to be healthy! We all love you!
