We Laughed Until We Cried

The title of this post describes this past weekend perfectly! Blair and I took a short trip to Colorado to visit Kelsey and Brian at their new house. Mom flew in and joined the party too! And seriously, whenever mom is around no one can stop laughing! It was a very long (about 8 hours) drive from Provo to Denver and we had to wait to leave until after Blair finished his last final so we didn't get to their house until a little after 3 in the morning. 15 minutes before we got there Blair was pulled over for running a red light and swerving so a sprinkler wouldn't pray the car...luckily the officer was very nice and didn't give him a ticket. Anyway, after sleeping in a little we did tons of fun things!! We spent a few hours a the pool then went home and this is what happened to the boys...

None of the girls were surprised to see them playing the wii right away! That's their favorite thing to do together! Once they stopped playing we decided we'd do a BBQ at Brian's parent's house then play croquet. Blair and Brian made dinner then dominated the girls in croquet!

Looking good Kels...
Mom decided her her croquet mallet was too fun just to hold. She decided to do a little twirling show for us. Yikes mom!
After Mom's "show" and after we played a few games, we ate COOKIES (my favorite thing ever!) And they were the really good kind of sugar cookies that you buy at a store with the really thick frosting. YUM! you can tell Kelsey and I are really enjoying our cookie! Brian let me eat one of his too because the baby told me that it really wanted another one!

The beautiful view from Brian's parent's house! It was such a pretty evening!
On Saturday we did even more fun things! Miniature golf is a family favorite so we did that and I can't remember who won, I just know I didn't lose...Kelsey did! Kelsey and Mom both got a hole in 1 though and I think Mom got 2! After gold we took a trip to Sonic to get our fix of Cherry Limeades.
Kelsey and I were getting really hot so we stepped in the little stream for a few minutes. It was a nice cool down!

And the BEST part of the weekend for Blair was the Rockies game! Blair had never been to a MLB game before so he was in Heaven the entire time! We brought some sandwiches to eat at the game and of course I had to get Blair a Dr. Pepper and peanuts with shells. He enjoyed everything and got to see some big players! And it was awesome that the Rockies won 8-7!!
And the last part of the weekend was the drive home. We were worried for a while because the car wasn't working very well when we were going through the mountains so Blair stopped to look at it and after we stopped and gave it a rest it worked just fine! Mom came with us and we met Christina and her family in Grand Junction so Mom could go with them and stay for about 2 weeks. It was fun to see them and to see their new baby Luke. He was so little and cute! Shayla was super excited to see her "Unkie" Blair and had tons of fun playing around for a few minutes. I think Blair was just as excited to see her and he had just as much fun playing! Shayla seemed really excited to see her Grammy too and kept giving her really big hugs! Shayla, Derick, and Luke are just some of the cutest kids ever!

What a fun weekend! It was nice to get away from Provo between Spring and Summer terms and have a fun break! We all enjoyed spending time together and laughing our heads off as someone was always doing something goofy. Blair and I are excited to go back to Colorado to visit Christina and Clayton for Luke's baby blessing in less than 2 weeks! These little trips that we've been taking here and there throughout the summer have been perfect and just what we need to keep going through school this summer.
