Milestones

-->
Things Brock has been doing for a while, but I haven’t recorded yet:
            -Holds his own bottle
-Thinks it’s funny to whack his head with his hands
-Doesn’t like to be burrito wrapped for bed (we haven’t wrapped him since the middle of February…sad!)
            -Loves big people food
-Crawls EVERYWHERE! (He started crawling at 7 ½ months on February 16th)
-Sleeps like a champ! He has been sleeping so well for months now! He occasionally wakes up during the night for a new minutes, but most of the time, he’ll put himself right back to sleep.
-Likes to feed himself his snacks. He still lets us spoon-feed him, but if a spoon isn’t involved, he likes to do it on his own.
-Knows what the word ‘no’ means. He is pretty good at minding us when we say a loud, firm ‘no’ to him.

Things he’s started doing recently:
-About a week after he started crawling he started standing! His favorite activity is to crawl from one piece of furniture to another, pulling himself up and shaking around. (Now that he is standing, he stands up at the corner or his crib waiting for us to get him in the morning. We had to move the side of his crib up to the next level so he wouldn’t fall out.)
-Loves to body slam Mommy and Daddy! When we lay on the floor, he will crawl to our sides, stand up, lift his hands way above his head then fall onto our stomachs. He thinks it is pretty funny.
-Now that he is moving like a wild man, he loves to come ‘find’ us.  When we leave a room he is in, he has to follow so he’ll know where we are going.
-Opens cupboards and drawers. Now it’s time to baby-proof those!
-Holds his arms high when he wants to be picked up.
            -Climbs up our love sac.
-Explores on his own. When we are playing in the living room, he will sometimes just randomly turn around and crawl to different rooms to look around. He loves to crawl into the kitchen and play with his alphabet magnets Grammy gave him for Christmas. After a while he will come back into the living room to make sure we are still there, usually with a few of this letters hanging out of his mouth.
-LOVES to play peek-a-boo, especially with Daddy! Daddy makes him laugh a lot more than Mommy does.
-And my very favorite thing: he flirts! At church he loves to flirt with all the ladies. There is a pretty big group of older widows in our ward and we usually sit right in front of them. He loves to stand on the bench looking at the rows behind us and laugh and play with the older women. He is pretty distracting though. After one particularly distracting Sunday, I apologized to a few of the women he targeted with his flirting, and one of them replied, “Oh, please don’t be sorry! I can’t tell you how long it has been since I’ve had a boy flirt with me!” I got a pretty good laugh!

Brock is such a cute little man! He is so entertaining and so cute! He is constantly learning new tricks and amazing us with his new talents. His laughs and smiles are just to die for! We really lucked out because he is also REALLY good! He is an awesome eater and sleeper and doesn’t usually cry unless he loses his balance and has a hard fall (Oh, I’ve learned that once he started standing, falls happen a lot and with falls, comes bruises!)
