Contagious

No, I'm not talking about sickness here, although that is very applicable at this time of year, I'm talking about people's attitudes. There are some people where it's hard to be around them because you feel like you are just dragged down with their negative attitude and pessimism. You know the people I'm talking about; the one's who only see the little bit of rain but miss the beautiful rainbow? They are the ones who, when you leave them, you feel exhausted and depressed. We all know those people and they seem to be plentiful, but it is so refreshing to meet someone or talk with someone who is completely the opposite.

Last night I wasn't in a bad mood at all. Work had gone great and I was excited to see Blair in just a bit once he got done with class. I talked with my Aunt Judy for only about 20 minutes before Blair came home and when I hung up I found myself completely elated and so happy. She is one of those people who is ALWAYS happy and who wouldn't be able to find something to be upset about, even if she was looking for something! And every time I call her, as I'm listening to the rings, I can already hear her greeting me with such enthusiasm! And it's not just what she says but her tone of vice that is so upbeat that I can't help but catch some of those sunny rays flying at me through the phone. I can even hear her voice right now, greeting me with such excitement! She is one of those people who truly makes me reevaluate my own attitude and make proper adjustments. I hope that when my nieces and nephews call me in the years ahead that I can have that same joy for life and help remind them that there are always so many things to be happy and excited about in life!

My dad once said in a church talk something like this: "Living life isn't always easy, but the opportunity to do so is a blessing beyond comprehension."

I love happy and positive people and am determined this year more than ever to have a constant contagious attitude and to have it be contagious.
