Last week, Blair had a lot of studying to do (like always) and he was planning on going straight to campus after working at the doctors clinic to study all night. But I had the car so I was going to pick him up and take him there. I wanted to bring him something to eat since he wasn't going to come home for dinner, but I didn't want to make him a sandwich since he has one every day for lunch. So I figured I make him one of his favorite dinners and just put it in a tupperware container for him to warm up on campus. Well, as I was making dinner, I was still a little sad that we wouldn't be eating together because that is when we tell each other all about our days. So, I changed the plan. Instead of bringing dinner in tupperware, I decided to bring the entire casserole dish, some silverware, paper plates, and milk in a travel cup, to eat with Blair in the car before he went to study. I know this sounds totally dorky, but hey, I thought it'd be an adventure. But when Blair got in the car after work, he said the last thing he wanted to do was go to campus. He told me to just go home and he'd study at the kitchen table. Yes, my plan was ruined...but only momentarily! I showed him his dinner-in-the-car and he loved it! So instead of going straight home, we drove up the canyon to our special park, where Blair first told me he loved me and where he proposed, and we ate our dinner there. The dinner wasn't super warm by then, but it still tasted yummy! We ate it in the car still because it was so cold outside. So we just ate and talked and listened to the radio. It might sound lame, but this was so fun!
Here is Blair getting really excited to eat as I got our dinner out:
His delicious dinner!!!
We were both so hungry that we ate almost half of the pan! Then we ate the rest for lunch the next day. We will definitely have to do this again, what a fun adventure?!
P.S.Another dinner story: I've been trying to cook more since I'm not as busy as I was a few weeks ago. Blair wanted my yummy enchiladas tonight for dinner, but I wasn't sure I'd have time since I don't get done with class until 6:30pm. Last night I was trying to plan it out and decided to boil the chicken last night so I wouldn't have to take the time to do that tonight. I got the chicken going on the stove with the promise from Blair that he would check the chicken in a little while, put it in a bowl, cover it with saran, then put it in the fridge, since I was going to bed. Well, this morning I go downstairs to get breakfast ready, only to see the chicken sitting in a bowl on the counter, not covered. The chicken was so hard and dry! And that was the last of our chicken! So much for enchiladas! Looks like its a grilled cheese and soup dinner tonight.
