Our Mansion

Okay...so we don't really live in a mansion, but it feels like we do...especially compared to the last place we lived in, which we now refer to as "the dump." We moved just about 1 month ago and have absolutely LOVED it! Almost everything about this new apartment is 10x, more like 100x better than our last place. The one downer is that it's not within walking distance from campus, but honestly it's not even that bad because our schedules work well together, so all in all, this move was the best decision EVER!!!

This is my Daddy/twin bookshelf. On the right is a binder of all my Dad's talks that my mom gave me for Christmas, along with a book about his life, his old hymn book and some of his hankies. The quote next to his frame says, "Faith in the Lord includes faith in His timing."
And on the left is a pic of me and Kels next to my twin statue.
The quote on the pink paper says "Happiness is being married to your best friend." And it is so true!! My super cute husband doing the dishes for me...how sweet! The only thing we don't have is a dishwasher, but we didn't have one at our last place either so we're used to it.
We have a washer and dryer in this apartment!! Absolutely amazing! I never realized how convenient it is to have them until we didn't have them for the last year! And we have a 1/2 bathroom downstairs! Awesome!Our 2nd bedroom. It's so nice to have so much extra room!Our bathroom that we can BOTH stand in at the same time and actually has a counter!! The bathroom in our last apartment was so small that the door couldn't open all the way because it hit the toilet and you had to maneuver around it to get to anything. And we have a REAL shower now! Our last one was one of the ones that you only see in movies that's not connected to a wall or the floor but had four little legs holding it up and needs that have a curtain going all the way around. You might think that's cool because it's old fashion and everything, but no...it was just old and nasty!
And last but not least, the bedroom. Again, one where we can both be standing in at the same time. We have so much more room in this one that we don't know what to do with it! With our bed, dresser, and nightstand in our last one we had about 2 extra feet...it was really squished. AND this one has a...CLOSET!!!! In our last apartment we didn't have a closet in our bedroom so I used the coat closet in the family room and Blair used a mini/half closet in the kitchen...totally lame!!! We even have a closet in our 2nd bedroom.
Needless to say, we are SUPER happy with the move! It might sound lame that I am so excited about all of this but really, our last place was small and yucky. We were in a basement so it was really dark and the people above us controlled the heat (it was FREEZING in the winter!) WE may have saved a little money with the low rent, but it is so worth it now to be in a good place just paying a little bit more! And even though I'm sure you're looking at these pictures thinking this new place isn't even that big, it's HUGE to us and makes us feel a little spoiled.
